(Worthy News) - ISIS-affiliated terrorists in Nigeria killed 11 people, many assumed to be Christians, on Christmas day, following the slaying of 7 Christians in Borno State by the organization on Christmas eve.

ISWAP, one of the names for Boko Haram and short for Islamic State West Africa province, released a video earlier this month in which the Christians pleaded for help from Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We killed them as a revenge for the killings of our leaders, including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir in Iraq and Syria,” a terrorist in the video depicting the execution of the hostages says.

More than 1,000 Christians were killed by Islamic State and other Islamic militants in Nigeria in 2019 according to a recent report by the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART).
