(Worthy News) - A Christian pastor in India called to minister to one of the country's unreached people groups was beaten along with his congregation in November by a Hindu mob.
Pastor Tukaram Chavan was called to reach the Lambadi people group 10 years ago and said "God started giving fruits to the ministry," with 25 indigenous families now attending his independent church in Karnataka state.
On November 3, a mob of 15 ran up the stairs where 100 people were worshipping on the second floor and began beating them, dragging the pastor downstairs, where a mob of 200 people were waiting to pummel him.
The Christians were taken to the police station and denied medical treatment, but Pastor Tukaram said he "counted the costs of serving the Lord" 10 years ago and "know[s] that He will lead me through these challenges."
