BUNI YADI, NIGERIA (Worthy News)-- Tuesday the terrorist group Boko Haram attacked a college in the town of Buni Yadi in Yobe state, northern Nigeria, murdering as many students as possible, according to Threat Matrix.

As of press time, at least 43 people had died during the attack.

Eyewitnesses told The Daily Mail that Boko Haram militants trapped students in buildings that were set ablaze; the militants then brutally killed anyone attempting to escape.

Students who couldn't escape the flames were burned alive.

Other Islamists reportedly threw grenades into dorms; they then sprayed the rooms with automatic fire and hacked any survivors to death.

Tuesday's attack was the latest in a series of raids by Haram's infamous Islamists. And as Boko Haram has intensified its Islamic insurgency, President Goodluck Jonathan has urged it to lay down its weapons and talk peace with him. But Haram's leader, Abubakar Shekau, vowed to continue his attacks into southern Nigeria, killing anyone deemed to be an "infidel".

"The reason why I will kill you is you are infidels. You follow democracy. Whoever follows democracy is an infidel".

Boko Haram loosely translates as "Western ways are evil".
