(Worthy News) - China is using the widespread coronavirus outbreak within its borders as an opportunity to attack Christian faith, with the communist government demolishing churches or removing their crosses over the month of March.
A video posted by the Chinese Christian Fellowship of Righteousness showed a crane removing a church's red cross from its rooftop in Guoyang County, Anhui province, while a video posted by China Aid President Bob Fu showed a demolished Xiangbaishu Church in Yixing City.
“Religious persecution continues even in the midst of #WuhanVirus,” Fu said under the video. “Xiangbaishu Church in Yixing city, Jiangsu province was destroyed by #CCP govt. Cross is our Glory.”
Three-Self Patriotic Movement and China Christian Council state churches in Shandong Province ordered believers to stop meeting online and vowed to "guide" believers "in other ways, with the caveat of not gathering together!"
China is number 23 on Open Doors USA's World Watch List for Christian persecution, but is developing the "system of persecution for the future," according to Open Doors CEO David Curry, through AI and surveillance technology.
