(Worthy News) - A Christian man was poisoned in Uganda by his Muslim brothers.

Ronald Rajab Nayekuliza came to the Lord in 2017, and began raising pigs on land inherited from his late father, which he also donated to the local Christian community for construction of a church.

“You rearing pigs is against the faith of our father,” his brothers wrote to him in a threatening letter earlier this year. "Our family has become a laughingstock to our Muslim neighbors."

Nayekuliza said that even though his brothers eventually killed six of his piglets and did not extend an invitation to him for their father's memorial service, he still decided to go for love of his father on November 10.

He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of food poisoning symptoms toward the end of the celebration, lost consciousness, and is still suffering blurriness of vision and body numbness, according to his wife, after doctors said he had consumed food tainted with insecticide.

"My brothers had threatened me with witchcraft as well as receiving curses from Allah. This has made me live in great fear of my life and that of my family,” he explained.

Nayekuliza has been pastoring a small church of 30 members since his conversion in 2017.
