ISIS execute Coptic Christian in Egypt

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has published a video showing their execution of 62-year-old Coptic Christian Nabil Habshi, who was abducted by the terror group in Egypt in November last year, International Christian Concern reports. The video was published on April 17, and the family believes the killing took place in March or early this month.

Egypt: 100 arrested in riot over Facebook comments “insulting” to Islam

A hundred people were arrested for assault and rioting Wednesday evening after a large group of Islamists attacked Coptic Christian houses and a church in the village of Deir El-Bersha in the Minya governorate, Agenzia Fides reports. The rioting was triggered by Facebook comments made by a young Coptic man that were considered insulting to Islam and the prophet Muhammed.

Christian teacher in Egypt charged with insulting Islam after posting comments on Facebook

A Christian teacher in Egypt reportedly faces charges of defaming Islam because of comments he made in response to a Facebook post earlier this month, Morning Star News reports. Youssef Hany from the city of Ismailia is understood to have been arrested on November 11 and charged under Article 98(f) of Egypt’s penal code, which prohibits insulting Islam, Christianity, or Judaism - religions described by the law as “heavenly.”

Christian watchdog says abduction of Coptic Christian women and girls in Egypt is a “bane”

A Christian watchdog group has published a report describing the widespread trafficking and abduction of Coptic Christian women and girls in Egypt as a “bane”, CBN News reports. Coptic Solidarity released its report "Jihad of the Womb: Trafficking of Coptic Women & Girls in Egypt" last Thursday. The report will be submitted to United Nations agencies and the US Office for Trafficking in Persons.
