Uganda: Muslim extremist father locked up/starved his son for becoming a Christian

An evangelical team found a teenager in eastern Uganda to have been locked up and nearly starved to death by his Muslim father because he had become a Christian, Morning Star News (MSN) reports. While Christianity is legal in Uganda, former Muslims who become Christians are vulnerable to attacks by Islamic extremist relatives and community members.

For the first time ever, the Central American country of Nircaragua has been added to the Open Doors World Watch List of top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted. The Open Doors international Christian organization raises awareness of global Christian persecution, and ranked Nicaragua 50 on this year’s World Watch List.

Nigeria: Fulani terrorists murder 11 Christians in Plateau state, “the terrorists are known to the Nigerian government”

Radicalized Islamic Fulani herdsmen murdered three more villagers in Nigeria’s Kaduna state in an ongoing campaign of land grabbing, murder, kidnapping, rape, and displacement across northern Nigeria and parts of the south, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports. Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria have murdered and committed other atrocities against tens of thousands of Christians, particularly since northern Nigerian states declared themselves under Islamic Sharia law in 1999.

US Christian groups call on Congress to act on behalf of persecuted Myanmar Christians

US Christian groups are urgently calling for Congress to address Myanmar’s military junta's ongoing persecution of Christians, Baptist News Global (BNG) reports. Ruled by the Buddhist extremist Tatmadaw army, which overthrew the country’s democratically elected government in a military coup in 2021, Myanmar ranks 14th on the US Open Doors World Watch List 2023 of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted.
