(Worthy News) - Another Christian man was murdered by radical Muslims in Pakistan this week, in the latest violent attack by Islamic extremists on believers in this country, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.
The 25-year-old Christian man killed earlier this week was attacked by a mob of Muslims in Pakistan’s capital city of Lahore, following a dispute over the building of a wall in his neighborhood, ICC said. According to a police report filed by a relative, around 200 people gathered outside the victim’s home, shouting and cursing. The mob attacked and killed the young man.
“This is the latest attack against the minority Christian community in Pakistan, but there have been many this year,” ICC said in its report. Just over two weeks ago, suspected Muslim extremists opened fire on Christian leaders, Pastor Patrick and Pastor Siraj who returning from a Sunday service on a motorbike. Pastor Siraj was killed on the spot, while Pastor Patrick was hospitalized with gunshot wounds, ICC added.
“The recent attacks on Christian youth and pastors are instances of violent persecution against the minorities in Pakistan,” ICC reports.
“The situation continues to get worse for Christians living in the country…In recent years, there has been a surge in attacks on minorities and their places of worship,” ICC said.
Pakistan ranks eighth on the US Open Doors Watch List 2022 of top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted.
