BEIRUT, LEBANON (Worthy News)-- A Saudi who recently embraced Christianity and fled to Lebanon said she was tired of performing prayers and fasting for Ramadan.
Maryam, who had been living in the Kingdom since she was 17, said she was taught to hate Christians, but became one after she had a dream where she climbed into the sky and heard God say that Jesus is His son.
Maryam's father filed a complaint against two of her co-workers, accusing them of helping his daughter illegally flee the Kingdom to embrace Christianity. The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution in Al-Khobar arrested the pair for allegedly forcing the girl to convert, but both made bail.
Christians in Lebanon have denied reports that Maryam is hiding in a church as the Saudi Embassy in Beirut attempts to find her and convince her to return home.
