(Worthy News) - The Mission Eurasia Christian ministry had one of its training centers in Ukraine destroyed, and a stockpile of Bibles burned, during fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces last month, CBN News reports. In a social media post about the incident, Mission Eurasia confirmed that all of their members were safe, although their field headquarters in Irpin was destroyed.
Mission Eurasia is a non-profit ministry that trains and equips young national leaders in 13 Eurasian countries, including Ukraine. The ministry is strong on sharing the Gospel and distributed millions of Bibles and Scriptural reading materials across Ukraine over the years.
While its headquarters are in Illinois, Mission Eurasia has maintained a strong presence in Ukraine since the ongoing Russian invasion: Ukrainian team members and volunteers have continued distributing Bibles and food, and other material essentials, despite the danger and hardships.
Following the destruction of their training center in Irpin, the ministry posted on Facebook: "Our hearts are deeply saddened by the destruction of Mission Eurasia's field ministries headquarters in Irpin, near Kyiv, even as we thank God for the safety of all our team members and evacuees who had been sheltering there."
Moreover, Mission Eurasia continued: "Nothing will stop the spread of the gospel in Ukraine and across the former Soviet Union, as had been happening from our headquarters. All of us at Mission Eurasia are united and trusting God. The gospel is indestructible and the determination of the Mission Eurasia team is strong. We thank God for you and countless others who have stood with us in the past and are standing with us now.”
The organization went on to explain that Russian troops set fire to Bibles and other Scripture materials that were being stored at the center, but that new copies had been mobilized for distribution in Ukraine.
