ABUJA, NIGERIA (Worthy News)-- Muslims have once again targeted Christians in Nigeria, killing more than 100 over the past weekend.
Attacks by Boko Haram -- the militant Islamist group that continues to attack Christians with impunity despite a declared state of emergency -- burned down homes and churches. Last month alone, more than 400 Christians were killed by Haram's Islamists in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
Other assaults came from gunmen believed to be ethnic Fulani Muslim herdsmen who have had a long-standing "beef" with Christian farmers over grazing rights. But instead of fighting over land and water, the herdsmen are now deliberately destroying Christian villages; Barnabas Aid reported that attacks on three villages in Kaduna state, Northern Nigeria, killed more than 100 Christians as their homes and churches were set afire.
"This ugly situation is unacceptable," said Kaduna Governor Mukhtar Yero. "We pray that God would expose the people that are causing this problem. We pray that God would touch their hearts to stop such dastardly acts or destroy their evil machinations."
