Vietnam: Pastors interrogated over false accusation they started COVID-19 outbreak

A pastoral couple and 11 members of their church have been interrogated by Vietnamese police officials in regard to false accusations that the Christians maliciously started a significant COVID-19 outbreak in Ho Chi Minh City in May, Morning Star News (MSN) reports. Local Christian leaders believe the interrogation and accusations are part of an effort to defame and shame Vietnamese evangelicals.

India: Evangelist pastor forced into hiding after Hindus attack and threaten to kill him

A pastor who was leading Hindus to Christ has taken his three children into hiding after Hindu radicals in India’s Bihar state attacked and threatened to kill him unless he shut down his church, Morning Star News (MSN) reports. Pastor Raj Masih, who lost his wife to COVID-19 earlier this year, had been holding services for at least 300 people prior to the attack on September 28.

Canada: Pastor spends second night in jail to stand for religious freedom

A pastor in Manitoba, Canada spent an additional night in prison last week after rejecting bail conditions that would have prevented him from preaching at his church, Fox News reports. Pastor Tobias Tissen who leads Manitoba’s Church of God Restoration was imprisoned for two days after violating a COVID-19 order which banned outdoor gatherings of more than five people.
